Lummi Island Beaches
There are three public beaches accessible on Lummi Island. You can choose from Sunset Beach, Church Beach, and the public county access beach located near the ferry dock and across the street from the Beach Store Cafe. Ashley and her kiddos love Sunset Beach for playing in the sand, collecting beach treasures, and swimming in the summer. Church Beach is a great place to skip stones and take in the long-island views of Sinclair and Cypress Islands. The county access beach on the east side features expansive views of Mt. Baker across Hale Passage; you can grab some food from the Beach Store and enjoy the views from the picnic table. There are also many properties available for rental on-island with private beach access. Out of respect for our fellow islanders, please refrain from beach-hopping on any beaches marked private.
Lummi Island’s beaches and the abundance of nature and wildlife are some of the main aspects that make Lummi so wonderful. Please help us preserve the island’s natural beauty by respecting this special place we call home.
Please remember to always pack up any waste that you bring in.
